THE BLIND SPOT OF LEADERSHIP
Your leaders know what good leadership looks like.
Under pressure, they stop doing it.
This program changes that.
THE PROBLEM
The Leadership gap.
Your leaders are your most important investment. They shape culture, drive performance, and determine whether your best people stay or leave.
The hardest leadership challenge to solve is not knowledge. Most leaders know what good leadership requires. The gap is between knowing and doing. In the moments that matter most, Leaders with the best of intentions fall back on the strengths that earned their success without any awareness of how that strength has turned into a liability. The decisive leader stops listening. The high achiever takes over. The relationship builder avoids the hard conversation. They have had the feedback, they have done the 360, they know there are other ways, but the minute things get busy, and these days things are always busy, good intentions get overwhelmed by past patterns.
This is the blind spot of Leadership, well documented by Otto Scharmer since the early 2000s. It is almost impossible to address through conventional development because it does not live in knowledge. It lives in behaviour that feels completely justified in the moment it happens. Feedback circles it. Training describes it. Neither reaches it. What actually shifts behaviour at this level is a moment of genuine self-recognition, seeing your own pattern clearly, in real time, in a situation real enough to activate it. That moment is almost impossible to manufacture in a classroom or catch in real life.
We have been creating that moment consistently for twenty years. With leaders who have tried everything else. The results speak for themselves.

Most leadership development assumes that knowledge drives change. It doesn't. Behaviour change in leaders is driven by experience, real situations, immediate feedback, and the conscious decision to break an established habit in a moment that feels like it matters.
That is what this program creates. We partner with nature's best feedback coaches to do it.
The challenges leaders face in the arena mirror the challenges they face at work, building a working relationship with someone who sees the world differently, influencing without authority, moving from management to leadership, leading at a distance, building a team that performs under pressure.
But here those challenges happen with a 1,200 pound partner who cannot be influenced by title, authority, or good intentions. Only by genuine shifts in behaviour. When a leader makes that shift, really makes it, the response is immediate and visible. Not simulated. Not interpreted. Real.
That moment of confirmation is what unlocks habits that may have been stuck for years. Since this happens in an environment with no real-world risk to jobs or outcomes, leaders can experiment, fail safely, and try again until the new behaviour becomes theirs. There is no judgement, no scores, no criticism - just new self awareness and building possibilities.
We follow a learning journey carefully crafted from twenty-five years of Organizational Development practice and grounded in the leadership frameworks that define the field. Adaptive Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, the Ladder of Inference, Practices of Exemplary Leadership, Presencing, Dialogue. Nothing here is accidental. Every challenge is designed to surface a specific pattern and create the conditions for a specific shift.
It starts when everyone gets out of the office and into a completely new environment. A space where heads, hands and hearts are all engaged.
It progresses through interactions, observations, debriefs and learning loops.
Leaders leave with something no classroom produces, behaviour change they created themselves and a heightened awareness of how to pay attention not to what their people say but to what they do.

Sharon shares the origin story for this program on the PC or tablet version of this website.

I learned the most important lesson of my leadership career from a horse.
His name was Welly. A Hannoverian showjumper. Calm one minute, explosive the next. Sometimes he jumped the moon and then with no warning I was going over fences without him. My coaches said he needed better communication. I wasn't being clear. Everyone said the problem was him.
More training just seemed to make things worse so I started to look outside conventional horsemanship. I studied with Horse Listeners and learned to see the world through his eyes. I discovered a horse who felt he had to take the lead, convinced he was responsible for our safety, on hyper-alert for every flapping bag and open umbrella.
When I learned to be the leader he needed, someone calm, focused, connected, he transformed. Six months later people were complimenting me on my new horse. Big red horse with four white feet and they didn't recognize him.
I realized every insight I learned about how I needed to show up for him paralleled the things I was teaching in my Leadership practice. So we brought our first group of leaders to the farm and instead of marshmallow towers they built relationships, instead of talking about leading they turned intentions into action. Horses follow willingly when people earn trust and respect. It turns out people do too.
That insight became this program.
IS THE PROGRAM A FIT?
The best next step is a conversation.
This is not your typical Leadership workshop. Its not a fit for everyone. Our clients tend to be out of the box thinkers who support leaders in their organziations. They are looking for something different, something memorable and something with impact.
Every program is fully customized and designed around the specific challenges, priorities, and context of your group.
Let's have a conversation about what your leaders need and whether this program delivers it.
